Job summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the nursing team in delivering bedside care. The PCT works under RN supervision, performing non-licensed tasks per established protocols and competencies.

The role requires strong communication, patient safety, and documentation skills, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of patient care technician course within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms for examination.
• Assists with medical procedures and examinations.
• Conducts patient interviews, measures vital signs, and phlebotomy.
• Performs EKGs and basic dressing changes.
• Registers and schedules patients using registration systems.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
