Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a non-licensed nursing support staff member to assist across nursing units, transport patients, and help with room cleanliness and equipment stocking. The role operates under the supervision of the shift primary nurse and serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, following unit guidelines and safety protocols.

The position emphasizes flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs while maintaining accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with patients and families.
• Ability to push/pull patients and assist with mobility and ADL tasks.
• Adaptable to changing schedules and assignments as needed.
• Able to follow directions from licensed nursing staff and perform basic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and reports basic patient physiological data (vital signs, weight, skin condition).
• Monitors intake and urine output and records data on forms.
• Provides for positioning, mobility hygiene, and comfort per procedure.
• Identifies and reports changes in patient status to licensed staff promptly.
• Organizes patient care and prioritizes tasks per physician and nursing orders.
• Performs therapeutic procedures and reports patient responses to supervising nurse.
• Makes rounds and responds to patient calls; greets patient/family warmly.
• Explains procedures to patients before starting care; documents data timely.
