Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED; BA preferred.
• Must have EKG, Phlebotomy Certificate.
• BLS Certification (AHA) required.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse and physicians in examination and treatment of patients.
• Obtain vital signs routinely and as needed (BP, temperature, pulse, respirations).
• Perform EKG and collection of blood specimens.
• Handle point-of-care testing including finger-sticks for glucose monitoring; RN/MD may perform second stick for critical results.
• Document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record; maintain open communications with health care team.
