Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff and provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, help with mobility, document patient data, and ensure a clean, safe environment under RN supervision. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification from Red Cross or AHA.
• Ability to follow instructions under RN supervision.
• Strong communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in patient care under RN supervision.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient care environment.
• Record initial and ongoing patient data (vital signs, intake/output).
• Assist with activities of daily living (meals, hygiene, grooming, elimination).
• Aid patient mobility (positioning, ambulation, assistive devices).
• Collect specimens as directed.
