Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Clinical Decision Unit in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role supports nursing staff by assisting with patient care and basic procedures, contributing to a safe and healing environment.

Full-time 36 hours weekly with 12-hour day shifts (6:30a–7:00p); entry-level friendly with a structured training plan. BLS is required within a month, CPCT competencies within three months, and EMT/CNA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 175-hour training program during new-hire orientation.
• Preferred EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care experience (e.g., PCA, CNA, or nursing student).
• BLS required within one month of hire; CPCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum physical requirements: able to push/pull/lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the supervision of the RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to patient care.

Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
