Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support a designated patient population under RN supervision. You will assist with direct and indirect patient care, safety, comfort, and care continuity throughout shifts, collaborating with the nursing team to achieve positive outcomes.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate adaptability, strong communication, and a patient-centered approach, with experience in phlebotomy or EKG preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of the following: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; or Fundamentals of Nursing; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or equivalent medical background.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, strong accountability, teamwork, and commitment to quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age, safety and comfort needs.
• Communicate with patients, nursing staff, and healthcare team about patient status.
• Take initiative to improve performance and patient outcomes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plans from admission to discharge.
• Engage in Unit/Department PI activities and quality improvement.
