Job summary

Hackensack MeridianHealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and clinicians in delivering compassionate, efficient care to patients of all ages. Under RN supervision, you will perform direct and indirect care, monitor patient status, and participate in safety initiatives.

Preferred candidates hold PCT/CNA training or equivalent, BLS certification, and experience in phlebotomy, EKG, and routine vital signs.

Qualifications

• Experience in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs and blood sugar preferred.
• At least one year PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting strongly preferred or eligible for PCT apprentice program.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for diverse age groups as directed by RN.
• Support patient safety, comfort and satisfaction throughout shifts.
• Obtain clinical data and document findings in patient records.
• Assist with patient care tasks and unit/department PI activities.
• Ensure equipment readiness and sterile technique for procedures.
