Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health seeks a Patient Care Technician, Central Pool, PRN, Days to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision. You will take vital signs, draw blood, perform ADL assistance, and support the care team in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Maryland state certification as a CNA or GNA required.
• No previous experience required; direct patient care experience is a plus.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Perform blood draws and collect specimens as directed.
• Document patient information and status accurately.
• Assist in admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Promote patient safety and comfort and maintain clean rooms.
• Collaborate with health care team to carry out the plan of care.
• Respond promptly to alarms and patient needs.
