Job summary

Overlake Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician/CNA for the Mother Baby/Post-Partum Unit. This .6 FTE day position includes 12-hour day shifts, with a focus on family-centered care in a state-of-the-art childbirth center.

Required: CNA, MA-R licensure sponsorship after hire, BLS, and strong English communication. Prior health care experience is preferred; hospital equipment knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program or equivalent documented nursing training required.
• Nursing Assistant-Certified (NA-C) required.
• Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) also required (Overlake Hospital will sponsor this licensure after hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification required.
• One-year recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG preferred.
• Computer familiarity is preferred.
• Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment, record keeping.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to Post-Partum and Mother Baby patients under supervision.
• Assist nurses with routine patient care tasks and documentation.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the care team.
• Support family-centered care and patient safety initiatives.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
