The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Clinical Decision Unit in Houston. The role supports licensed nurses by delivering direct patient care and monitoring patients during the decision process that determines hospitalization or discharge.
Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, a CNA certification, and at least one year of acute care experience (ER preferred).
The Patient Care Technician on the Clinical Decision Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a CNA certification and at least one year of patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably an ER. The candidate must be available to work three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. This department is hiring for the Day/Evening shift: 7:00AM - 7:00PM.
The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is an outpatient unit that provides observation services to patients that do not meet the admission criteria. A designated 16-bed medical unit where adult patients in need of additional monitoring, diagnostic evaluation and/or treatment may be placed while a clinical decision is being made to admit the patient for hospitalization or discharge the patient for further care. Available for patient care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays

Experience Preferred: One year experience in an emergency room hospital setting as a Nursing Assistant.
Licensure/Certification Required: None.
Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
