Job summary

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in Wallingford, CT, seeks a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant for a 32-hour day shift in the Float Pool. Under RN supervision, you will provide direct patient care across units and support a warm, collaborative team environment.

CPR certification is required prior to hire; a high school diploma or GED and CNA or equivalent training are mandatory. Shift includes every other weekend/holiday rotation.

• CNA, CPCT, CEMT, CMA or RMA required or equivalent Training Program.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT/CNA) performs a variety of patient care activities at Gaylord hospital. Working under the direction the RN, the PCT’s have valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and skills while working in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams. With an average patient length of stay 25-30 days, the PCT is able to develop strong relationships and play a key role in the recovery of our patients.

Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED required
• CNA, CPCT, CEMT, CMA or RMA required or equivalent Training Program
• Patient care experience preferred
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR Certification required prior to hire

WORK SCHEDULE: 32 hours/week, day shift (7:00 am-3:30 pm), every other weekend/holiday rotation
