Sentara Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Tech at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA.

This unlicensed role works under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to perform delegated nursing care and observe patients’ conditions, reporting changes promptly. Responsibilities include providing patient care, supporting admissions and discharges, and adhering to safety practices.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required and one of the listed certifications.
• CNA, NCMA, NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps EMS training acceptable.
• Current clinical student with RN/LPN/RT/PT experience or recent PCT work counts.

Patient Care Tech

Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.

Education

Certification/Licensure

Must have a HS Diploma and one of the following:

• Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)
• Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
