Job summary

McLaren Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Acute Rehab Unit in Petoskey, MI. Day shift, 7:00am-7:30pm, 72 hours biweekly. Benefits include 403(b), health, dental and vision insurance, PTO.

Under RN supervision, you will assist with patient-centered care, maintain a safe and clean environment, and support patients and families with daily activities while respecting cultural and developmental needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.
• Prior experience in direct care preferred.
• CENA training.
• Prior experience obtained through clinical nursing rotation relevant to the specific work area.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.
