Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) who reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Hours per week are 36 with 3 rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Minimum education includes a High School Diploma for PCT I and additional qualifications for PCT II, plus BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for PCT I.
• PCT II needs 24 hours/week or more and one of the listed qualifications.
• BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire and to be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist under RN supervision to support patient-centered care.
• Perform multi-skilled activities to help achieve patient outcomes.

Education

High School Diploma

Associate or Bachelor's degree

1 year healthcare facility experience

Nursing school enrollment

Healthcare related field enrollment

CNA or CMA certification
