Purpose and Scope: Supports FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including all regulatory and FMS policy requirements. Functions as part of the hemodialysis healthcare team to provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with FMCNA policies, procedures, training, and regulations set by relevant authorities. Responsible for setting up and operating hemodialysis machines, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and supporting quality improvement activities to meet FMC Quality Enhancement Goals.
Addendum for Home Program Technicians: Assist with home visits, reinforce patient education, schedule appointments, collect vital signs, prepare lab samples, manage supplies, and support home dialysis setup and maintenance.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Includes desk work, patient interaction, travel, exposure to infectious materials, heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and bending. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Must pass Ishihara color blindness test. Work environment typical of healthcare facilities.
Education & Experience: Requires CMS-approved certification or high school diploma/GED with certification within required timelines. Prior patient care experience preferred; successful completion of dialysis training and CPR required.
