About the Role

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make an exceptional difference in the lives of our patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an exciting opportunity to jump start your career in healthcare! With paid, extensive training, you will gain the skills needed to care for our patients and build a network of healthcare professionals across your area. After training, you'll join a team of care professionals including nurses, dietitians, social workers, and experienced PCTs to care for our patients. It's more than a job; it's a career driven by passion and purpose.

Position Details
  • No dialysis experience required.
  • Training may occur at a facility or training clinic other than your assigned home clinic.
  • Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You Can Expect
  • Direct patient care, spending most of your day in one-on-one interactions to provide safe, comfortable dialysis treatment.
  • Care for multiple patients.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring stats, observing patients, and setting up hemodialysis machines. Note: Exposure to blood and needles.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients suffering from end-stage renal disease and educate them on dialysis-related topics.
  • Work within a team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under the supervision of an RN.

  • Ability to work long hours (some shifts 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics.
  • Healthcare certifications like BONENT, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy are a plus.

Salary/Wage Range

$22.00 - $33.50/hour. Actual pay depends on location, experience, and qualifications.

Location-specific wages
  • NYC & Long Island: $64,350/year (exempt), $16.50/hour (non-exempt)
  • Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester: $64,350/year (exempt), $16.50/hour (non-exempt)
  • Remainder of NY: $60,405.80/year (exempt), $15.50/hour (non-exempt)
