The Patient Care Technician in the Medical/Surgical Department delivers direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients within the nursing assistant’s scope of practice. This role collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include assisting in routine nursing care, communicating changes in patient status to the assigned nurse, and performing other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Knowledge:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an approved nursing assistant course or current CNA registration with the Indiana State Board of Health is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience required if not registered as a CNA. Phlebotomy and hospital experience are preferred but not required.
