Pay Range: $18.28 - $25.59 / hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of an RN, assists in providing patient care. Performs selected cross-trained skills, treatments and procedures specific to department for patients, including EKG and/or monitoring. Updates RN with timely information regarding patient status in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of fundamentals of nursing course and registration on the Illinois Department of Health Registry, or a nurse who has completed RN or LPN training in another country with completion of EKG. Bi-annual CPR certification by the renewal date.
Heart Hospital incumbents must complete BDI course within six months of hire.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job-specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required. Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Computer experience helpful. Basic arithmetic skills required. Exceptional customer service skills with all customers.
