Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the CV Unit on the Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus. This full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) includes 36 hours per week with 4–5 weekends every six weeks and rotating holidays.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform essential patient care tasks to support safety and comfort. Required CNA experience or nursing rotation, and CPR certification are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and the ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to receive and follow directions accurately.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Tech provides basic patient care under the direction of an RN and follows established procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Details

Position: Patient Care Technician -CV Unit - Nights

Location: Elmhurst Main Hospital Campus - 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., Elmhurst, IL 60126

Full Time: 36 hours per week

Hours: 7pm-7:30a.m.am (4-5 weekends in a 6 week period) and rotating holiday track

Call: If census is low and not needed in other areas

Required Travel: no

Float: Could float to any inpatient unit including PCCU

What you will do

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

What you will need

Education: N/A

Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association

Experience: Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation

Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.

Unique or Preferred Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
