Sanford Health's Wheaton Medical Center is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician (PCT) with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts. The role requires every third weekend and every third holiday, and is ideal for nursing students, CNAs, or those seeking patient-care experience.

You will assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, and report changes under RN/LPN supervision in a warm, small-town environment. Sign-on bonus is available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• North Dakota ND: if not CNA, must be on the ND Nurse Aide Registry within four months or training/competency validation completed.

Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The Patient Care Technician provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.
