Job summary

Loretto Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support nurses in Medical/Surgical Telemetry and Critical Care units. Under RN supervision, you will assist with patient care, vital signs, hygiene, and mobility, while maintaining a compassionate patient-centered approach.

The role requires CNA/EMT/ PCT certs or equivalent, CPR, effective communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA, EMT-B, EMT-P or PCT Certification required.
• 6+ months experience in Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, or Critical Care.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous service to patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and other internal/external customers.
• Maintains the desk as needed which includes order entry, charges, ordering supplies, and telephone etiquette.
• Transport patients, lab specimens and other as assigned.
• Follows established emergency, infection control and or universal precautions procedure as required.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage patients of all ages or patients with special need.
