Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician at Danbury Hospital to assist with patient care activities under supervision. The role involves performing basic nursing tasks, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring safety and comfort for diverse patient populations.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 0–6 months hospital experience preferred, and may require BLS/CPR certification within 90 days of start.

Qualifications

• 0–6 months hospital experience preferred.
• Active CNA certification preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical care to assigned patients and performs technical skills such as point of care testing.
• Implements nursing orders promptly with understanding of their purpose.
• Maintains patient safety and comfort through daily activities and proper positioning.
• Documents patient data and observations in the computer system.
• Communicates patient and visitor information to the nurse in charge.
• Keeps the work area clean, stocked, and safe; supports equipment upkeep.
• Acts as Safety Attendant/Patient Sitter when assigned.
• Attends staff meetings and reviews meeting minutes.
