Job summary

SCA Health, part of Optum, is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in Farmington, CT. The role emphasizes patient safety, proper medication handling and teamwork within a 15,000+ strong care network.

The PCT will protect patients, operate equipment safely, follow PPE guidelines and help improve center efficiency. BLS may be required within 90 days; high school diploma and medical terminology knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (MA)/Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Patient Care Technician (PCT) preferred.
• Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Protecting the patient from injury from extraneous objects and hazards.
• Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and reporting unsafe situations.
• Adhering to standard precautions including PPE.
• Optimizing center flow and efficiency.

• Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources
• Demonstrating safe operation of equipment machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation
• Adhering to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment
• Proactively optimizes opportunities to enhance flow and efficiency of the center

Qualifications

Patient Care Technician (PCT) Requirements:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (MA)/Nursing Assist at (CNA)/Patient Care (PCT) preferred.
• Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
