Job summary

Ascension's Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Patient Care Technician for the night shift to assist in pediatric bedside care under supervision. You will support nursing with basic clinical and non-clinical tasks, monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, and help maintain a safe, sterile environment.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent (or 1 year of related experience) and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; inpatient pediatric experience

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience.
• In-patient pediatric experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
• Serve as the bedside support for nursing staff (the backbone of bedside care).
• Assist with mobility, hygiene (ADLs), and safe transfers.
• Monitor vital signs and document data accurately.
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure equipment readiness.
• Communicate as the primary eyes and ears for the nursing staff.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Previous In-patient Pediatric Experience Preferred
