Job summary

Los Robles Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Progressive Care Unit. You will assist the nursing staff with basic patient care and daily living activities while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care and collaboration with the health care team to ensure clear communication with patients, families, and colleagues. Prior acute care and BLS/CNA credentials strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
• 1+ years of acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA license as mandated by state.

Job Summary And Qualifications

SUMMARY

Seeking a Patient Care Technician for our practice will deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other. We are looking for someone that feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.

What you will do in this role

• You will be under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), and will assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT's skills/training and the needs of the Department
• You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment
• You will promote consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service
• You will demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocates for patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions
• You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications
• You will engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
• You will participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues

Qualifications

This position is in the Progressive Care Unit

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Demonstrated or tested ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• CNA license as mandated by state of practice
