Job summary

West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, FL, is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the nursing team in delivering compassionate care. You will assist with basic adult patient care, monitor vitals, hygiene, and comfort, and document care in the electronic health record.

You may also serve as unit secretary and help with supply procurement as directed. Requires high school diploma, CPR, and preferred phlebotomy/EKG experience; CNA coursework preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Nursing program with completion of one clinical class preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
• Current AHA CPR card required.
• CNA completed course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic adult patient care, including vital signs, hygiene and monitoring.
• Document care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Enter orders/tests accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Provide unit secretary support as needed.
• Manage supply procurement, receipt and storage for the unit as directed by the Charge Nurse.

The Patient Care Tech assists with professional nursing staff with the provision of basic adult patients. Assist with professional nursing staff with the provision of basic care to include: vital signs, hygiene and monitoring. Measures and records patients intakes, outputs, and temperatures (oral, auxiliary, and rectal) and advises supervisor of abnormalities promptly. Documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record. This position will also perform the role of a unit secretary as needed. Provides clinical and reception support and manages supply procurement, receipt and storage for the unit as directed by the Charge Nurse and/or Director. Enters orders/tests accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

Education:

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: Enrolled in Nursing program with completion of one clinical class

Experience:

• Phlebotomy and EKG Experience preferred

Certifications:

• Current AHA CPR card required
• CNA Completed Course preferred
