Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Nurse Assistant to provide basic patient care on a 16-bed med/surg tele unit. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment and assist with routine treatments and vital sign collection. Evening and night shifts require alertness and teamwork to support patient care.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and CNA certification or six months of CNA experience; BLS is required during orientation and maintained throughout employment.

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. based on previous work experience

Departmental Overview

Our Medical team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 16 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal surgical care.

Compensation / Benefits

• $14.29-$23.34/hr. based on previous work experience


• Evening differential $1.50/hr.


• Night differential $1.75/hr.


• Weekend differential $1.75/hr.

Job Summary

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent GED.


• Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistant

Experience

• Six (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistant


• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment


• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
