Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Patient Care Tech (PCT) for night shift in Tulsa, OK. This full-time role supports nurses by assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collection in a fast-paced NICU environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days of hire, and cross-training across hospital services. CNA/PCT certification or nursing school enrollment is preferred, with 2+ years in acute or long-term care valued.

Responsibilities

• Record intake/output, assist with ROM, and blood draws.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school preferred
• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy preferred.
