Job summary

Landmark Hospital of Columbia is expanding and seeking compassionate Patient Care Techs to join our acute-care team. You will work alongside nursing, respiratory and rehabilitation staff, performing basic care under supervision, monitoring vital signs, documenting care, and supporting patients with hygiene, meals and mobility to promote healing.

Full Time and PRN Day, Night and Weekend shifts available. We offer 12-hour shifts with a competitive benefits package and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Missouri CNA certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1–3 years of related healthcare experience.
• Long-term acute care/hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic care tasks under direct supervision of licensed staff.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and comfort.
• Monitor vital signs and document patient information.
• Deliver meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environment and assist with basic equipment.

Landmark Hospital of Columbia is expanding! We are seeking compassionate Patient Care Techs who are committed to delivering great patient care to hospital patients. This is a great opportunity to work alongside our nursing, respiratory and rehabilitation teams in an acute-care setting. Landmark Hospital values our Patient Care Techs as a significant role in overall care as our patient's journey toward healing.

Shifts: Full Time & PRN Day, Night & Weekend Shifts available. Competitive compensation and benefits package (12 hour shifts and Full time is 3 shifts a week, PRN is a minimum of 1 shift every every 2 weeks.)

Key Duties: Perform basic care skills under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse including vital signs, intake/output measurement, catheter care, CPR, restraint management, bowel and bladder training, and documentation of care in the patient record. Responsible for assisting the licensed nurse in meeting the patient's needs in the areas of personal hygiene, personal care, skin care, grooming, rest, activity, nourishment, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support.

Requirements for Patient Care Tech (PCT) / Certified Nursing Asst (CNA)

• High School Diploma/GED
• Certification (Certified Nursing Assistant for State of Missouri) Preferred
• Current BLS
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Long-term acute care/hospital experience preferred

Shift Responsibilities

1. Shift Start & Reporting

The shift begins promptly at 6:00 AM.

Handoff report to the oncoming shift must be completed before leaving.

Complete all ordered vital signs and blood glucose checks.

Perform and document routine safety checks for all assigned patients.

3. Intake & Output (I&O) Management

Empty Foley catheters and ostomies at least once prior to the end of shift.

Accurately document all patient intake and output.

4. Call Light Response

Remain in a location where call lights are visible.

Respond promptly and appropriately to all patient requests.

Turn and reposition patients at least every 2 hours.

6. Hygiene

Provide bed baths and assist with all personal hygiene needs, including toileting.

7. Meal Support

Deliver meal trays to patients.

Document meal intake for each patient.

Return remaining trays to the dirty utility room.

Remove any full or malodorous trash from patient rooms promptly.

Collect and remove soiled linens as needed.
