Job summary

Texas Health Denton in Denton, TX is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Intermediate Care unit. This full-time night shift position offers 36 hours per week with weekend and holiday requirements.

You will provide patient-centered care, assist in admissions/discharges, and collaborate closely with nurses to deliver safe, high-quality care. The role emphasizes strong data collection, documentation, and adherence to care plans, with opportunities for growth within a teaching

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE compliance for foreign education equivalency if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program.
• Current EMT for TX or equivalent medical training.
• Military medical training equivalent acceptable.
• 1 year PCT experience in lieu of active certification.
• Nursing student with fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides and revises activities of daily living per patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Adapts care to reflect patient population in collaboration with the nurse.
• Incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safety.
• Anticipates patient/family needs and rounds as appropriate.

What You Will Do

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
