Texas Health Resources is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Tower 5 Med Surg Unit at Texas Health HEB in Bedford, TX. You will provide direct patient care under nurse supervision, assist with ADLs, and support admissions, transfers and discharges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE compliance may be required depending on role.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with a recognized credential.
• Current EMT certification for TX preferred.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• 1 year of PCT experience preferred.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care and maintained.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and revises activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system as applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Collaborates with nurse to adapt care to reflect patient population and beliefs.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safety.
• Anticipates patient/family needs and rounds as appropriate.

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous PCT experience is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
