Texas Health Resources in Bedford, TX seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Tower 5 Med Surg Unit. This full-time day-shift role (7a–7p) offers 36 hours/week, self-scheduling, and strong growth opportunities with comprehensive benefits.

You will assist with care plans, data collection, admissions/discharges, ADLs, and safety in a fast-paced teaching environment. You need a High School diploma or GED, TX PCT/CNA training or EMT, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE compliance for foreign education equivalency when applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR program.
• Current EMT for TX or equivalent medical training.
• Nursing student with fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous PCT experience preferred.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides and revises activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
• Documents accurately and collaborates with nurse to adapt care.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safety.

What You Will Do

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.

• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.

• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or
• Current EMT for TX or
• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
• Previous PCT experience is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
