Texas Health Resources is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Tower 4 Med Surg Unit in Bedford, TX. This full-time day shift position offers growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits in a fast-paced teaching environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE - foreign education equivalency compliance required, if applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR program.
• Current EMT certification for TX.
• Military medical training or equivalent.
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals.
• 1 year of applicable PCT experience preferred.
• BCLS certification required prior to providing independent care; CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data and report significant findings to nurse.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Support activities of daily living and adapt care to patient needs.
• Perform procedures safely and proficiently.
• Take actions to reduce patient risk.
• Enter orders into computer or manual system when applicable.
• Document accurately and appropriately.
• Collaborate with nurse to reflect patient population and cultural needs.
• Keep patient environment clean and safe.
• Anticipate patient/family needs and respond.

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, TX 76022

Work hours: Full Time, Day Shift (7a to 7p), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Great growth opportunity and complete benefits available.

What You Will Do

Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.

• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.

• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge.

• Provides and Revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.

• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.

• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.

• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.

• Documents accurately and appropriately.

• In collaboration/consultation with the nurse, adapts care to reflect patient population.

• In collaboration/consultation with nurse, incorporates cultural/religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.

• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.

• Anticipates patient/family and visitor needs and takes action to meet those needs and rounds as appropriate

Here's What You Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

• CLIAFE - Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required, if applicable.

• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP or NCCT or an accredited community college program or a THR approved program or

• Current EMT for TX or

• Military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) or

• 1 year of applicable PCT experience in lieu of an active and approved certification or

• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.

• Previous PCT experience is preferred.

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

• CPI - Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training within 60 days of hire required.
