Job summary

Atrium Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join the Float Pool. The night shift runs 7:00 pm–7:00 am, full-time, 36 hours per week, with 72 hours per pay period.

As a PCT you will support nurses and doctors, monitor vitals, assist with mobility, hygiene, eating, and sample collection. You’ll report changes to the nurse and help with rounds and paperwork as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • BLS CPR certification required or provided at orientation.
  • Completion of STNA, CNA, or PCT training, or recent direct patient care experience.
  • Currently enrolled in nursing school with at least one clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Check vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Assist patients with mobility, dressing, hygiene, and feeding.
  • Collect samples and report condition changes to a nurse.
  • Assist with patient walks and overall rounding to support care teams.

Bathing, turning/positioning, toiletingCurrently enrolled in nursing school and have completed at least one clinical rotation.*Special Consideration: If the candidate has previous direct patient care experience, they may be excused from fundamental training (BCOP) upon completion of successful skills validation.
