Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is hiring a day-shift, full-time ER Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and assist patients.

You will help with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and relay observations to the nurse; a high school education and BLS within 14 days are required; certification as PCT or CNA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have completed some high school education.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED Equivalency.
• Completion of High School PCT competencies.
• Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision.
• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the nurse.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
