Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor comfort, and help with basic clinical tasks.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, timely documentation, and adherence to hospital policies. Training on required courses, including BLS, is provided during orientation; prior caregiving experience is preferred.

The Patient Care Tech works under the direction of a licensed nurse to assist in meeting the physical and psychosocial needs of patients in a professional and timely manner. Performs various tasks as competency documentation designates. Position provides direct care with limited invasives procedures. This position is an advancement opportunity for the Nurse Aide and adheres to the delegatable tasks approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

Previous care giving experience preferred. Must have the ability to demonstrate basic care giving skills and essential job functions

BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. Must successfully complete "Handle with Care" with new hire orientation, or upon transfer, and annually thereafter.

Must have effective communication and time management skills. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department and reports patient welfare, safety and security to RN.
