Job summary

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• Must meet one: national PCT certification; WVU Patient Care Tech program; CNA certification in state of service (OH/WV).

Responsibilities

• observes and reports patient concerns to a registered nurse.
• Assists RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and supports patient hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
• Maintains clean, safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment repairs.
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
• Communicates nutrition concerns to RN and assists with diet changes.
• Supports department administration and handles patient call bells.

Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.8. Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes.10. Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations.11.
