Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Care Nursing Resource Pool professional to support nursing operations in our hospital. The role involves assisting with direct patient care under RN supervision, including ADLs, vitals, and mobility, while maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Shifts available 10:30pm-7:00am and 7:00pm-7:00am, with options for full-time or part-time. Fellows will receive orientation, training, and benefits from day one, reflecting Trinity Health’s commitment to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of direct care experience (acute or long-term) or completion of CENA/PCT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning and transferring.
• Assist with ambulation and feeding, using assistive devices as needed.
• Collect and document patient data and specimens as required for care and studies.
• Provide care under RN supervision to maintain safe patient environment and documentation.
• Support flexibility by floating to Trinity Health Arbor as needed and participate in orientation and training.

Education

Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor

Position Purpose:

The PCT, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.

Shifts Available: 10:30pm-7:00am; 7 pm-7am

Status Available: Full-time, Part-time

Every Other Weekend and 4 Holidays per year (at least 1 Winter)required for Full-time and Part-time team members.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one year of previous direct care experience (acute or long term) or successful completion of CENA or PCT course.
• Student nurses must have completed their nursing fundamentals class of a BSN program.

What you will do:

• Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success.
• The PCT assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection.
• A PCT will collects and send specimens including blood and blood cultures and inserts and removes peripheral IV catheters. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
