Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care, ensuring patient comfort, safety and personal needs. You will assist with activities of daily living and perform hygiene-related procedures in a unit-based, self-directed team environment.

The role requires BLS certification or equivalent, GA CNA registration or alternative CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA credentials, and at least one year of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• CNA on Georgia Registry is required.
• Or CMA (AAMA) / RMA (AMT) / CCMA (NHA) certifications accepted.
• One year of patient care experience (CNA/PCT/ED Tech or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care to ensure comfort and safety of patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Perform procedures for physical hygiene and comfort as directed.
• Work within a unit-based, self-directed patient care team.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

1. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
