Job summary

Northside Hospital in the Atlanta area is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care focused on comfort, safety and personal needs.

You will work in a unit-based, self-directed team, assisting with daily living activities and performing hygiene procedures, while collaborating with licensed and non-licensed staff.

Applicants should have BLS, Georgia CNA registration or eligible CMA/AMT/NHA/other certification and at least one year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry.
• One year of direct patient care experience in acute settings.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

1. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
