Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a patient care technician to provide bedside care and support to patients across the unit. You will perform treatments according to policy and participate in performance improvement activities while upholding safety standards.

The role requires BLS and CNA/CPCT-A or EMT certification, plus 1+ year PCT experience. This on-site position supports a faith-based health system focused on holistic care.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CNA or CPCT/A certification required OR EMT certification.
• 1+ year PCT experience preferred.
• Bedside patient care in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments per policy and procedure, delivering age-appropriate patient care.
• Responds to clinical emergencies and supports quality initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines and proper PPE usage; practices hand hygiene.
• Contributes to safety and continuous improvement in patient care.

Job Description: Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

Pay Range:

$15.31 - $24.50
