Job summary

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
Records vital signs and assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and protect patients, visitors, and staff.
Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to department procedures.
Communicates nutrition issues to RN regarding appetite or diet changes.
Assists department with administrative tasks and answers patient call bells.
