Rush University Medical Center in Chicago seeks a Patient Care Technician II (PCT) to support the RN in patient care, including phlebotomy and routine procedures. Responsibilities span preparing patient care plans, data collection, and maintaining a safe environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, formal clinical training, current BLS, and strong communication skills. Shift is day-time, with 12-hour rotations on weekends, part-time 24 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal clinical training such as CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, corpsman, paramedic, or nursing/medical student experience.
• Maintains current BLS certification.
• Successful completion of the institutional screening examination.
• Ability to solve simple problems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Phlebotomy.

Responsabilités

• Assists the RN in the delivery of patient care.
• Maintains a safe patient environment.
• Sets priority of duties based on patient and unit needs under RN direction.
• Participates in individualized plans of care under RN direction.
• Assists patients in activities of daily living.
• Accurately obtains patient data and documents care.
• Performs routine procedures, treatments and specimen collections.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique when necessary.
• Assists RN or physician with advanced procedures.
• Assists with management of uncomplicated tubes and drains.
• Performs blood glucose testing and specimen collection.
• Reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintains patient room supplies and a safe environment.
