Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support patient-centered care under RN supervision. You will measure and document vital signs, assist with daily activities, monitor patients on cardiac monitors, and help with basic treatments.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of health care experience, and BLS certification; position is PRN with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA experience preferred.
• At least 1 year patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support required on hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with daily activities (hygiene, restroom, grooming).
• Monitor vital signs (temperature, pulse, etc.) or EKG signals and patient condition.
• Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments.
• Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies and clean linen.
• Provide emotional support to patients.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor.
• Empty drains, ostomies, Foley bags.
• Perform blood sugar checks.
• Follow department leader instructions and guidelines.
