Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Patient Care Technician (PRN) to support a decentralized, patient-centered care model. You will measure and document vital signs, identify patient concerns, and assist with mobility and daily care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification is required on hire with ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or CNA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Keep patient rooms tidy and sanitized.
• Assist patients with everyday needs (hygiene, grooming, mobility).
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the care team.
• Assist nursing staff with basic treatments and procedures.
• Ensure adequate patient care supplies and clean linen in rooms.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Place patient on cardiac monitor as directed.
• Assist with drains, ostomies, and Foley bags as needed.
• Perform blood glucose checks and document results.
• Support department leadership with assigned duties.
