Job summary

Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, OH is seeking a part-time Patient Care Tech I for the 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift. This role supports Med/Surg/SCU with patient care and daily activities, in a not-for-profit rural hospital setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with MA/STNA/Phlebotomist preferred and BCLS certification. Excellent teamwork and adherence to hospital policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• MA/STNA/Phlebotomist preferred.
• BCLS Certification required (may be obtained during orientation).

Responsibilities

• Moves throughout the facility and assists in activities of daily living as described in the duties of this position.
• Performs clerical/administrative tasks as needed.
• Performs tasks within the scope of practice under the direction of an RN.
• Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
• Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates commitment to Pomerene Hospital’s Values.
• Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient’s care, with patient consent.
• Encourages PSP / family presence at the patient's bedside and participation in the patient’s care.
• Promotes a comfortable environment in which PSP / family members may stay with patient.
