Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA in Myrtle Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Observation Unit to support registered nurses in delivering hands-on care. You will help with vital signs, mobility, transfers, and creating a safe, comfortable environment for patients.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient prep, non-medicated care, maintaining clean and stocked spaces, managing supplies, and communicating with patients and families to uphold safety and quality.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of start date.
• Healthcare-related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
