Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support our nursing team in Ortho Medsurg. In this role you assist with daily patient needs, vital signs, mobility and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans to restore comfort and dignity.

You will work collaboratively with nurses and care teams to maintain a safe, welcoming environment, manage supplies, and help with infection control and patient comfort in a busy tertiary care setting.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
