Job summary

HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Float Pool PRN role. You will support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, assist with vital signs, mobility, and daily personal care, and help maintain a safe, welcoming patient environment.

As part of a collaborative nursing team, you will help monitor patients, follow care plans, and communicate with patients, families, and the care team to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• No experience required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
