Job summary

The Little Clinic in Colorado Springs, Castle Rock area, is seeking a Patient Care Technician to help maximize patient flow and deliver excellent patient experiences. You will handle administrative tasks, register patients, verify identities, collect payments, and document in the EHR with HIPAA compliance.

We value teamwork and attention to detail; responsibilities include coordinating with providers, supporting exam rooms, and assisting in events as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and task-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, quality-based, survey-ready healthcare environment.
• Greet customers or potential patients at front area or near the clinic.
• Clean and organize the clinic space daily and manage supplies.
• Answer questions following HIPAA guidelines and consult with provider.
• Manage waiting room flow using queue and appointment tools.
• Complete patient registration and assign to the scheduler.
• Verify patient identity using government-issued ID.
• Collect payments and log in the EHR; document insurance info.
• Scan documents or notify provider to complete scanning.
• Escort patient to exam room and determine chief complaint.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history; log in EHR.
• Provide waiting patients guidance on registration, wait time, and payments.
• Answer phones and return calls per policy.
• Participate in off-site events as needed.
• Prepare weekly orders and shipments for provider approval.
• If float, travel to designated clinics within geographic area.
• Advanced PCTs may assist in specimen collection under protocols.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with/without accommodation.
